i took a pic of me watching the pickle rick episode to piss people off but like somehow i managed to take the pic so that the frame on the tv was…. a different frame to the reflection on the desk?
cursed image
this is the most fucked up scenario that accurately depicts that movement of photons through space and time
Einstein would be so upset that you proved his theory in one moment, cause in his day it took fuckin months to setup an eclipse pic to prove relativity n you did it by accident, in ur living room. congrats.
this is actually called the rolling shutter effect!! the camera captures images in a rolling fashion, from the top to the bottom. so objects that are moving fast like a car, or a airplane propeller, or frames on a tv being reflected will always look distorted. the closer to the top of the image you get, the further back in time it represents, just by a few split seconds. all this means is that the frame reflected on the table was probably the one right after the one on the tv, and it changed before the camera’s rolling shutter had time to get to it.
here’s some more pictures with the rolling shutter; remember that the top of the image just represents a fraction of a second earlier in the action
rolling shutters also move side to side in some cameras, leading to more spooky imagery
I’ve always found the best rolling shutter images to be lightning.
I’m watching David Fincher’s Zodiac while I’m posting this. I think this may have been a bit of a bad idea. But aside from that…
ABC’s of Beth was actually a crazy episode. The whole Tommy storyline was a bit awkward (OK I’m kidding it was creepy on a billion levels) but I love how Beth and Rick’s relationship was revealed and it really changed my perspective on Beth and Rick’s treatment to Beth. I guess it was like having a mini-Rick in the house?
the sad part of it is that Rick and Morty is a genuinely good show. It’s this interesting and funny look at how toxic it is to others when you think your better than everyone else. It’s a story about how it doesn’t matter if you’re the smartest man in the universe, you’re still going to have a miserable, lonely life if you alienate everyone around you.
Evidently a large majority of its fanbase refuse to see the nuance and just want to brag about how they’re so smart because they watch a cartoon show.
“Haha i love rick and morty” *does the weird rick voice w/ the fake burps* “M-morty i need.. i need your help morty..” *sings get shwifty* “IM PICKLE RIICK!!” *draws questionable fanart*
Bad Rick Sanchez fan behaviour:
“I relate to Rick in so many ways because, he doesn’t care about anything just like I do. He knows nothing in the universe matters so you don’t ever have to think about how your behavior affects others. I’m smart because I realise this, I also feel superior towards other people cause I’m sure I’m always right and have nothing left to learn. Therefore I never listen to anyone else just like Rick. Also summer is a total bitch”
