SO GUYS this is gonna be a pretty long post, and you don’t have to read this but I just want to know how many people would be interested in a webcomic I have planned. If you DO read this, I would appreciate it if you like this simply so I can get a rough idea as to how many people have at least heard what I want to share with all of you. If you like the idea, maybe you could reblog and share the word? But you don’t have to, I just want to get it out there finally 🙂

I’m not very good at explaining ideas like this in short-hand and often it’s in a way that is not always chronological/doesn’t make much sense, but I’m doing my best I swear (this is why I’m not writing it, I used to be better but in recent years I’ve not been too good with words)

Okay. My story (which hasn’t got a set title yet) is (to begin with) set in a small area in England to begin with which is where the main character lives. The setting changes a few times – a giant house in the [south] of France, a few other spots in England again and maybe one or two in Germany via flashback or memory. It is about a girl named Ioanna Vega who, when you first meet her, is an antisocial, super intelligent teenager who has just started public school after years of homeschooling from her mother, Leanne. It all begins with her settling into her new school – she’s good with her lessons, but not so much with making friends. She starts to experience bullying, and with no-one there to keep an eye on her, she tries to convince her mother to take her out of the school only a term into the school year. Unfortunately, her mother refuses, but says she believes that things will change in her second term of school.

So after the holiday break (it’s set in England at this time, so if you’re from somewhere with a different education system this might get confusing, but if you want I can try and explain it privately???), she goes back to school and things are a little different. By this time, she’s made a friend, Finn, and odd things happen occasionally (which I won’t go in depth about cuz spoilers). By the end of her second term, Ioa is convinced that she’ll do better.

After the Christmas break is when the real story begins. A “transfer student” named Imagene is staying with her and her mother as Ima has started in her school too. From here, the first part of the story focuses on how Ioa discovers her link to this new student, and what she has to do with her past. It includes Ioa learning through flashbacks and dreams, Ima and Finn’s familiarity, and bloodsuckers. The later part of the story goes into much more depth on Ioa’s family/family past.

In this world, vampires and werewolves and many other creatures and beings exist. Witches, reapers, hybrids – there are plenty of complicated links between all of these things.

If I had to sum it all up, I’d describe it as a fantasy webcomic about reuniting famliy. Ioa’s gonna find the rest of her family, whom she only remembers thanks to her flashbacks, and she’s gonna give herself the happy ending she damn well deserves.

My characters are also very diverse when it comes down to sexuality. I wanted to make something which had lots of visibility for sexualities that aren’t often noticed as much as they should be, and I’m doing my best to show them in the healthiest form, to show that they are completely normal and maybe even kill a few stereotypes. My main examples are Ioa and Finn. Ioa is asexual, but she’s not sex repulsed and later on she has a romantic love interest. Finn is gay, and there will be times when other characters mess with him because of it, but overall he’ll still be shown as a normal character – and he also gets a happy ending! I’ve seen so many shows/books/other forms of fiction where gay/bi/non-straight characters are either only seen as their sexuality but not as a decent character, and a lot of the time they don’t get happy endings (I’ve also heard from a few posts I’ve seen floating around on various websites), so I’m making sure that these characters aren’t taken for granted like that, but are still shown and act like real people.

It’s not particularly gory, but occasional there will be a mention of/panel where there will be blood and probably a few other gore related things because vampires. Death. But not so much of it, especially to start with.

This isn’t a lot of information, since I don’t want to spoiler anything in case you genuinely are interested in looking at it when I get around to starting it, but if you want to know more feel free to send a message! I’m sorry I’ve probably worded this terribly (and more boring than it really is) but really, if you think you’d like to read my webcomic when I make it then like this so I know who to let know when it begins! Thank you so much for your time, I apologise for it being so long, maybe share this if you like the idea or know someone who might!

On this blog you can ask me more about the characters involved in this particular story, or you can read some of their basic information by going to my OC page (linked on my blog) and clicking on their names! Warning though, their information contains spoilers about them and their involvement in my story, so if you’d rather keep it as a surprise just ask me about anything specific. When I get around to starting the webcomic, I’ll post update sneak-peaks of panels to this blog so you know when new pages have been added (and I’ll reblog them to my main account for all my followers on there). You’ll also find little doodles of the characters here, as well as (maybe) wip scenes and character data sheets.

I’ve had this idea for a good few years now, and to genuinely have people interested in it would be an amazing achievement for me!

Yo this is a great concept and everyone should read the webcomic because @toohoot-hootdamn is amazing and their art is awesome. Keep an eye out for the first panels!
