problems with star trek into darkness: strayed too far from the original message of the franchise. made starfleet into a military operation instead of an exploratory organization. whitewashed khan. many characters acted too out of character and too morally grey. was misogynistic in how they treated carol marcus especially. spent too much time on action sequences. 

problems with star trek beyond: where the FUCK was kirk’s captain’s shirt?? i mean, they specifically showed a scene displaying kirk’s closet. i saw no green. where is it? does he not have it in this universe? i find that hard to believe. it featured far too heavily in TOS for them not to at least drop a reference to it. i mean, come on.
